Brittany Mazique is a children's book author who has written for Disney and created the acclaimed Millie Magnus chapter book series (G.P. Putnam's Sons / Penguin Random House). Her books have been praised by Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, and The Washington Post. She lives outside Washington, D.C. with her family.

Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee and shaped by formative years in New Orleans, Brittany Mazique grew up loving books but noticed that most of her favorite characters didn't look like her. That instinct to reimagine stories became her mission. After building a career in marketing and events, Brittany found her calling in the nonprofit world, working with organizations serving Black and brown children in marginalized communities. The loss of her mother changed everything — writing became her way through grief, and her debut picture book, Delphine Denise and the Mardi Gras Prize, launched her publishing career. Disney came calling with companion books for The Little Mermaid and Cinderella, sparking an ongoing partnership. Today, Brittany lives outside Washington, D.C. with her husband Edward and daughters Millie and Margaux — the real-life inspirations behind the beloved Millie Magnus series.
